Last year Over The Wall supported over 600 children and families affected by serious illness, providing magical, transformative camp experiences completely free of charge. Over The Wall camps allow children to ‘kick back’ and have fun in a range of recreational and educational activities, and they encourage campers to reach beyond the perceived limitations of their illness and rediscover a whole world of possibilities, helping to build their confidence, self esteem, coping strategies and peer relationships.
There are 2 camps happening in Scotland this summer at Strathallan School in Perth. The first is for children aged 8 to 17 years, living in the UK, who are currently receiving treatment, or experiencing health challenges, and runs from 9th to 14th July. The second is for children aged 8 to 17 who have a brother or sister (of any age) who is currently receiving treatment, or experiencing health challenges.and runs from 17th to 21st July.
You can find out more about the camps and the criteria for campers on the Over The Wall website, which also has information about how you can volunteer to help out at the camps.
