We are looking for an energetic, creative and enthusiastic Service Co-ordinator to take a lead in developing and delivering support services for young carers aged 8-18.  Based in Milngavie but delivering across East Dunbartonshire, the co-ordinator will plan, develop and manage a regular programme of group activities as well as providing one-to-one support and/or advocacy to the young person.  You will also need to work closely with wider family members to ensure ‘whole family’ support and build close working relationships with social workers, teachers and the local schools.

New Vacancy-Young Carer Support & Communications

Do you want to make a positive difference to the lives of Young Carers in East Dunbartonshire?

We are looking for an energetic, creative and enthusiastic Young Carer Support & Communications Worker to help deliver positive outcomes for young carers aged 8-18. This will be done through one to one work and group activities under the principles of GIRFEC.  The successful candidate will also be required to regularly liaise with local Schools along with other statutory bodies to provide a linked up service.

Initially funded for one year, the post will also have key responsibility for developing and piloting the expansion of online support through various social media platforms and website.  With the aim of reaching previously ‘hidden’ young carers and widening peer support networks, your responsibility will include provision of information as well as creating (and moderating) online communities and website maintenance. It is anticipated that success of this pilot will help secure further funding.

Carers Link is looking for a Finance Administrator to join our busy team. You will be able to demonstrate a strong background in finance management, bookkeeping and administration. You should have working knowledge of Excel, SAGE and Payroll systems (preferably Iris).  Personal motivation, enthusiasm and excellent organisational skills are essential qualities.  You should also have strong attention to detail, be happy with complexity and be willing to ‘hit the ground running’ although training will be provided.

Based in Milngavie, Carers Link seeks a Co-ordinator (32 hours p/w) to develop our Young Start project for Young Adult Carers throughout East Dunbartonshire, and to provide support, advocacy, information and social activities as well as employability initiatives.

Are you skilled in PR and communications?  Have you experience in giving and/or producing information? Are you looking to work in an organisation that makes a difference?

Based in Milngavie, Carers Link seeks a part-time Information Co-ordinator (28 hrs p/w) to develop & implement an integrated communications strategy whilst ensuring that local carers have access to information materials both online and printed.  As well as producing information, you will also be responsible for providing information and advice to callers on the OPAL Advice Line that is delivered in partnership with 3 other local organisations.

Salary will be £20,000 pro-rata (28 hrs p/w)

The project is funded in the first instance to end March 2016, however it is hoped to secure further funding beyond this date.

Based in Milngavie, Carers Link seeks a full-time Office Co-ordinator.  We need someone that demonstrates initiative, thinks ahead and takes prompt action to solve problems and complete tasks.  You need to be skilled in all aspects of MS Office, have good report-writing skills and have experience of designing & managing office systems.

Starting salary will be between £17,000 – £18,000 depending on experience of successful candidate.  This is a full time post at 35 hours per week.
