The evening session is cancelled but you can still book onto the lunchtime session.
We want to know what you think about the Scottish Government’s proposals to improve support for carers which include changes to eligibility and an increase in payments. There are some really big changes proposed, so it’s really important that the views of carers are heard.
We are also running this session at 1.30pm today.
The Scottish Government have set out their plans for a new benefit – Scottish Carer’s Assistance – to replace Carer’s Allowance. You can read and respond to them on the Scottish Government website at https://www.gov.scot/publications/scottish-carers-assistance-consultation. This is quite a long document, and so the National Carer Organisations have put together full (https://www.carersuk.org/images/Scotland/NCO_briefing_SCA_consultation.pdf) and short (https://www.carersuk.org/images/Scotland/Scottish_Carers_Assistance_NCO_-_Short_Briefing.pdf) briefings to help.
Join us to find out more about the proposals, hear what other carers think and help us gather views of carers in East Dunbartonshire so that we can respond to the consultation.
