We offer a variety of training sessions covering neurodiverse conditions such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.
Supporting Autism and Neurodiversity (SAND) is a 6 week basic training course. Each 2hour 30 minute session includes a presentation and time for Q & A. The aim is for participants to attend all 6 sessions to build the knowledge required to support their individual(s) or themselves. This evening session is generic but with a focus on supporting people aged 16+ who have a diagnosis themselves (or the suspicion of such) or who care for an adult.
Week 5 is about arousal and behaviour, looking at the impact that the differences in neurodiversity have on arousal, and the resulting defensive behaviours. We will discuss strategies to understand causation and to reduce and manage arousal and subsequent behaviours.
The course will be delivered via Zoom in partnership with DIFFERabled, and places can be booked by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your name, postcode (only first three digits) & a very brief bio on what the benefits of the sessions could support you with (e.g. My name is Jean, postcode G62, & I am mum/dad/carer/grandparent/aunt/uncle etc. of a daughter/son etc. who is aged 4yrs/35yrs, diagnosed/undiagnosed with whatever neurodiverse condition). This will give an insight into where to aim the sessions.
