Our volunteers are an integral part of the Carers Link team, and provide telephone, email and face-to-face support to over 1000 carers each year.
Carers Call – Carers Call provides carers with regular telephone or email contact from our offices in Milngavie. Volunteers contact them regularly for a chat about how things are going, which gives them the chance to share how they are feeling and raise issues they need support with.
Group and event buddy – Our groups and events offer a sociable environment for carers to relax and meet others in a similar situation. Volunteers help staff to set up at the venue and, most importantly, make carers feel welcome.
Emergency & Future Planning – Emergency and Future plans encourage the carer to think about and plan for what might happen in the future. Volunteers work with the carer to facilitate this, to produce a plan and to keep it up to date.
Administration volunteers – All of the services that we provide to carers rely on the administration support provided by our office. Volunteers work alongside and/or with staff and other volunteers on a range of general office duties such as data entry, typing, making telephone calls, and bulk mailings.
Board members – The Board of Directors of Carers Link ensure that Carers Link is run efficiently and properly, and that our funds are spent properly. They monitor the progress of the work of the organisation and make sure that it continues to meet the needs of carers in East Dunbartonshire.
