The support that we provide for local carers is paid for in a number of different ways. We receive funding from East Dunbartonshire Council and East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care partnership and from funders like the Community Fund. However the demand outstrips our statutory funding, so we need to raise funds from voluntary sources so that we can continue to help the number of carers that we do, in the wide range of ways that we provide. We need the support of generous, thoughtful and committed donors, and you can help. If you’d like to fundraise for Carers Link please get in touch by emailing: whatson@carerslink or calling 0800 975 2131
Join our 100 club. Sign up to pay £5 a month for a year, and you will be entered in our monthly prize draw. 50% of your donation will go towards the prize fund and 50% will go to support carer services at Carers Link.
With 100 people participating the monthly prizes would be a first prize of £100, a second prize of £50 and four runners-up prizes of £25 each. In 2020 the funds will be used to set up and run a walking group for carers. In subsequent years members of the 100 club will be able to vote for the groups they’d like to support.
To find out more download our leaflet here or call us on 0800 975 2131. You can download the Carers Link 100 Club terms and conditions here and you can join by clicking on the button on the left.
Join our 100 clubClear out for Carers Link
Have you had a clear out during lockdown or still intend to? Maybe you’ve gutted out the garage or cleaned out some cupboards?
Would you consider selling off any unwanted items in aid of Carers Link? You’ll be amazed how the pennies add up to pounds and any donation no matter how small is a big help to us.
Be sponsored to do something!
- Carers Link is the first charity on the West Highland Way. Why not walk all, or even part of it?
- Run in a half marathon, 10k or 5k.
- Give up chocolate, shave your head, wash cars.
Whatever you do you can be sponsored to do it. If you know someone who is going to walk or run in an organised event, please ask them if they would consider being sponsored for Carers Link. Carers Link also organises events, and you can find out about these on our fundraising events page.
Organise an event!
- Hold a coffee morning or a race night
- Guess your colleagues from baby photos or guess the Teddy’s Birthday
- Have a second hand book sale or clear your attic with a boot sale
Whatever your event, if you are interested in organising something to raise funds for Carers Link, please phone us free on 0800 975 2131. We will be glad to hear from you and will be able to help you help us!

Fill one of our ‘Coins That Care’ boxes
Our boxes are a great place to empty your purse or pockets of heavy spare change. And if you leave one somewhere prominent in your home, other people may drop coins in as well. When it’s full, you can either pay the cash in at a bank or bring it in to the office. If you would like a box, please call us free on 0800 975 2131 and we will be very happy to post one out to you.
Nominate Us
Many supermarkets, companies and organisations support local charities through a variety of initiatives such as the green token initiatives:
Waitrose: Ask for a nomination form at the Welcome Desk.
Asda: Click here to go to the Green Token Giving Page and then scroll down to the find your local store button.
Does your work have a charity of the year – or will it match any donations made by it’s employees?
If you have any other ideas or need any help with nominating us please get in touch – just call 0800 975 2131 or email enquiry@carerslink.org.uk
