Today Jon and Heather speak to Bob Diamond, a member of Carers Link’s Board of Directors. Bob goes over how he got involved with Carers Link, what his role entails, and why Carers Link has a Board of Directors.

This episode is something a little different. Listen in as Heather and Jon discuss mindfulness and share a short mindfulness practice to help you relax and re-centre. If you like what you hear and want more, you can listen to other recorded examples at the link below, or you can join us at the weekly online mindfulness sessions

A true “What’s On” episode! This week we talk about all of the events that Carers Link has planned until the end of the year. If you’ve read What’s on and want to know a bit more about an event or news item, listen in. (And if you haven’t read it here’s your chance to find out what’s on.) We also introduce our new co-host, Heather.

This week’s podcast is all about you! Thanks to our participation in Global’s Make Some Noise campaign this summer, we’ve now got funding to create the Positive Changes programme. This new project offers carers a range of support and activities to support their physical and mental health & wellbeing. to help support carers of all ages.

Listen in to hear Rose and Lauren share some of our plans for the project and talk about some of the new activities we’re offering, and find out how you can get involved .

This week we have a sweet office banter episode for you! Lauren, Christine, and Paul joined Katy and Jon to talk about their favourite chocolate bars and much more. Play along as they take on Katy’s chocolate quiz and see if you can spot the mistake we made with one of the “correct” answers.

This week we have another Young Carer takeover for you! This time, Sam spoke to Janine from Education Scotland, Hannah from Carers Policy, and Kelly from Carers Trust about how the education system in Scotland is working for and with young carers. They discuss changes that have come about during COVID-19, what schools are doing to keep young people safe, and how organisations work together to provide the best support possible to young people and young carers.

We ran over time a bit this week so Hannah from the Carers Policy Team at the Scottish Government has provided written answers to some of the questions we didn’t get to ask. Click here to read them.

This podcast is about all things technology and how Carers Link can help connect carers to technology and each other! We spoke to two of our tech buddy volunteers, Helen and Sharon, to hear about how they’re working to get carers connected during the pandemic. And carer Frank told us about his experience working with a tech buddy to learn more about technology.

If you’d like to learn more about technology and how we can help you, get in touch by emailing us at enquiry@carerslink.org.uk or by calling our tech support hotline at 07592040703!
