Our online (zoom) teens information sessions are aimed at neurodivergent young people aged 12-18 but are also great for similar aged siblings and close friends, helping to understand behaviours etc., to better support the neurodivergent individual and themselves. The sessions are beneficial when the individual is ready to engage with and understand the content and is committed to attend each session.

Week 1: Juggling

Week 2: Order or chaos

Week 3 Explosion and meltdown

Juggling session covers:

  • Demands [self-awareness, conformity, compliance and tasks]
  • Self-awareness [diagnosis v differences, features and presentation, priorities, strengths and challenges]
  • Conformity [social skills, environmental challenges, awareness, reserves]
  • Compliance [understanding, barriers and sharing
  • Tasks [academic, domestic and social]
  • Balancing [using strengths, using strategies, maximising reserves and maximising supports]

Participants are asked to register, providing a screen name for recognition   [and an email for the handouts to be sent] they do not need to use their own name on screen if they do not want to be identified, and they can choose to have camera on or off. Questions and comments during the presentation are done through chat entries and this is an option at question time as well [or voice if wanted]. The sessions last 90min but additional time is allocated for questions at the end if wanted. Handouts and additional resources are provided once they have logged on.
